In the latest Pokemon The Trading Card Game expansion, Primal Kyogre-EX has emerged as a powerful player. With a high attack and HP, Primal Kyogre-EX will wash away the competition. It also has Ancient Trait, which allows you to add two Energy cards per turn.
It’s one attack, Tidal Storm, does 150 damage to the Pokemon in play, plus 30 damage to every EX Pokemon on the other player’s bench. The main draw back to Tidal Storm is the Energy needed; three Water Energy, plus a Colorless one. Also, whenever you attack with Tidal Storm, you must move two attached Energy from Primal Kyogre-EX to a benched Pokemon.
Keldeo-EX is a suggested partner for Primal Kyogre-Ex because of it’s Secret Sword attack gaining extra power from Water Energy, which would come for free with every Tidal Storm attack. It’s also beneficial because of it’s Rush In ability; it can move into the Active position for free.
The Kyogre Primal Spirit Link Tool Card is a useful card to keep in your deck because it keeps your turn from ending when you play Primal Kyogre-EX. The Dive Ball Item Card allows you to get any Water-type Pokémon from your deck, so fishing up Primal Kyogre-EX is quick and painless. With a high retreat cost, a Float Stone Item Card makes retreating Primal Kyogre-EX free, and the Rough Seas Stadium card helps keep your water Pokemon in fighting shape. Finally, Archie’s Ace in the Hole Supporter card allows you to put any Water-type Pokemon directly from your discard pile onto your Bench, including non-Basic Pokémon like Primal Kyogre-EX.
The XY-Primal Clash expansion is full of these cards, and many other useful cards for avid TCG players. Use the right combinations, and Primal Clash can lead you straight to a victory.
