Avid third generation Pokemon trainers will enjoy this announcement from the Pokemon site; there will be a Hoenn Pokedex only tournament starting on January 23rd, 2015 and ending January 25th, 2015. The tournament will be singles style, using only Pokemon listed in the Hoenn Pokedex, with all Pokemon above level 50 being set to level 50. All Hoenn-dex Pokemon are eligible, excluding the legendaries Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Jirachi, and Deoxys, and any Hoenn-dex Pokemon transferred from Pokémon Black, Pokémon White, Pokémon Black 2, or Pokémon White 2 via Poke Transporter. Six Pokemon may be entered, but only three will be used in each match. Each match will have a thirty-minute time limit, and players will have sixty seconds to choose a command before a command is chosen for them.
Sign-ups for the competition begin on January 15th, 2015 at 00:00 Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), and will run through January 22nd, 2015 at 23:59 UTC. Players may sign up through the Pokemon Global Link with their Pokemon Trainers’ account. 50,000 players may enter into the three age divisions; Junior, Senior and Masters. Junior/Senior players have to have been born in 2000 or later, and Master rank players born 1999 or earlier. Junior Division players are limited to playing between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m., based on the eastern-most time zone in each player’s country. If a player uses a false birth year to play in a different rank, they risk disqualification from this competition, and possibly being banned from future competitions. Players may battle up to 10 games per day of the competition. Any unplayed games will carry over to the following day. A new day will begin at 00:00 UTC.
To compete, each player must sign up in the time frame mentioned above, a Pokemon Trainer Club membership, a wireless internet connection, and a Pokémon Omega Ruby or Pokémon Alpha Sapphire game with a Game Sync ID registered in the Pokémon Global Link.
