The Eon Ticket is the item that allows you to capture Latias and Latios in their respective games; Alpha Sapphire or Omega Ruby. To receive it, players must leave their 3DS’s StreetPass function on, and encounter one of the other players who starts the game with the Eon Ticket. StreetPass is currently the only way players can receive this item, other than going to The Nintendo World Store in New York City before January 14th, 2015. Play! Pokemon League Leaders will also be given codes to distribute to participants at nearly a thousand Pokemon League locations. Nintendo recommends hanging around at Pokemon events, such as tournaments, to increase your chances of receiving the Eon Ticket via StreetPass.
StreetPass enables 3DS users to connect and exchange information with other 3DS gamers in their local area. Like its name states, when a player passes another player who has their StreetPass enabled, they will exchange information. There are several games already built into the system, and 52 games that can be purchased, Pokemon X and Y included. Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will also be StreetPass capable upon release. There are many ways to use the StreetPass function; close your 3DS and leave it in a bag, and go about your business and it’ll connect automatically with any other players doing the same thing. There are StreetPass relay points, called Nintendo Zones, where you’ll automatically meet and receive data from the last 6 visitors. You can also connect to the internet and collect other’s data at these Nintendo Zones.
With 44.14 million 3DS devices sold as of June 2014, and such high expectations for Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire sales, there will be many chances for players to receive the Eon Ticket via StreetPass. With some lucky players starting the game with the Eon Ticket, the Eon Ticket will be available to all at the release of the games, November 21, 2014.
