Pokemon Bank was slated for a January release, but after Christmas sales surged for the Nintendo 3DS, the company had connection issues for their users, forcing a delay in the Pokemon Bank service.
Pokemon Bank will allow Pokemon to be stored into an online “bank” where they can be held for long periods of time or it can be used as a temporary storage location as the Pokemon are transferred from one game to another. This will work in a similar was that the Pokemon Box did on Gamecube, but with online service, more space and easier to access.
While the Europe release is slated for today, February 04th, the global release is still not announced, leaving users wondering when will they be able to utilize a must have feature that was originally promised to them in early January. Initial users who sign up will also receive a free Celebi, one of the hardest to obtain legendary Pokemon.
After the free trial period ends, there will be a yearly subscription cost for using the app.
