With the release of Pokemon X and Y on the Nintendo 3DS already well underway, it was only a matter of time before the Pokemon Trading Card game saw an expansion to reflect the new gaming mechanics. The XY Series Pokemon Trading Card Game expansion pack is set for a February 05, 2014 release date, just months away!
The new XY expansion will include more than 140 new cards. These new cards will not only represent the new Pokemon from Pokemon X and Y from the Nintendo 3DS titles, but also feature the mega evolution component and the new Fairy type as well.
Playing a Mega Evolution can have a high risk high reward situation though. Using one will use up a turn, leaving you without even performing an attack, but their power and HP can match those of the Pokemon-EX. The new expansion will also feature 2 new mega Pokemon evolutions not yet seen in the games.
Each card will also feature an online code that unlocks virtual cards for the online Pokemon trading card game as well.
