The Pokemon Company released more details about the upcoming Pokemon X and Y game coming out on the Nintendo 3DS on October 12th. With the game coming out in just under a month, some significant details are being released.
The starter Pokemon have finally been given evolved forms. Chespin will evolve into Quilladin, capable of learning Mud Shot. Froakie will evolve into Frogadier, capable of learning Bounce. Fennekin will evolve into Braixen, a fire-type capable of learning Psyshock.
Pokemon X and Y has already been shown to give players the option of playing as a girl or a boy. It is now shown that you can customize your character with clothing and accessories. Speaking of customization, it has been shown that Pokemon themselves can be customized. A poodle Pokemon named Furfrou has been shown to take different appearances based on how the trainer maintain its hair. Pyroar has also been shown in a female form to go along with the form revealed yesterday.
Meowstic, a psychic type Pokemon, also has different forms based on sex, but will also learn different moves based on its sex.
Mewtwo, who had already been shown to mega evolve, has now been revealed to be capable of evolving into different forms. There will be 2 different types of mega stones, giving an X or Y form. Mega Mewtwo Y was the form originally revealed, and will see additional special attack power. Mega Mewtwo X will pick up a second type, fighting, to go along with its psychic type.
Other Mega Pokemon were also revealed, including Garchomp.
Team Flare’s 5 scientist characters were unveiled. Team Flare, like the other teams in prior games, have a world changing goal in mind, but it has not yet been stated. The 5 scientists will be distinguished by their hair color, with 4 of the 5 being female.
