Nintendo released a set of new details today regarding the function-ability of the upcoming 3DS titles, Pokemon X and Pokemon Y. Of the exciting news, perhaps the most welcome entry into the series is the ability to import old Pokemon to the new games.
For years Pokemon gamers have “Caught em All” to only have the company release a new game and a new Pokedex with hundreds more, forcing the serious gamers to go back and catch them all again or slowly trade them one by one over. Even Pokemon Black and White 2, direct sequels had no way of importing all of the prior Pokemon from Black and White.
In today’s Pokemon Direct, Nintendo offered up a solution to this problem that they have called the Poke Transporter. The Pokemon Transporter will allow for you to upload your favorite Pokemon to a personal Pokemon ‘Bank.’ You will then be able to download them from your bank into your game.
This innovative way of playing Pokemon comes at a cost however. To utilize these features, players will have to purchase a premium app that will cost an annual fee.
Not as good as just transferring a Pokedex, but it is an improvement. What do you think about the Poke Transporter? Will you pay to download em all?
